I’m so excited to be able to work with dancers looking to elevate their dancing, learn new skills, and level up their mental game! Being able to be at a competition working with dancers from all over is a huge honor. What better time to work on handling your nerves, and directly and immediately work on your dancing after day one of the feis!
Scott is not a registered TCRG therefore there are no issues with associations. It’s recommended that any dancer wanting to do the dance workshop get permission from their teachers*
I hope you’ll join me for any and all options to work on competing your best!
At the RMIDA Championships you can join me:
Pre-Competition Mindset Group Session*
(1 hour)
We’ll be setting up a plan to work with our nerves instead of against them. Whether it’s something that usually gets in your way or a particular concern or fear you have on that day, we’ll problem solve how to stop it form getting in your way!
We will solidify the schedule of when are where to meet closer to the feis date. Depending on when you compete there will be a morning session and an afternoon session that you can choose from.
Post-Feis Workshop on stage*
(2 hours)
Take advantage of this unique opportunity to work on adjustments, comments from the judges, and other feedback on one of the actual stages you compete on! If you’re competing both days this is a huge advantage but even if you’re not - what better time to make some progress! Don’t worry, there won’t be any major adjustments, we’re just focused on making PROGRESS - whatever that means for you.
We will solidify the schedule of when are where to meet closer to the feis date. As feis schedules can fluctuate on the day, we will be flexible too!
*Any dancer that signs up for both the pre-competition mindset session and the on stage workshop also gets Scott’s help throughout the day handling nerves or anything that pops up, watching your rounds, and generally whatever you may need to support you. You get an additional cheerleader on your team for the day!*
But Scott, I’m nervous about talking in a group setting or dancing in the same workshop as my competitors!
I hear you! But if you want to make the most progress you can, it means pushing past being uncomfortable. I’ll never make someone talk or do anything they don’t want to. But you’ll be shocked to find out how much we can learn from others in these settings. Outside of Irish dance - these types of classes or workshops at competitions are completely normal in the dance world. So help us pioneer making this the new normal in Irish dance!
